Child Custody Mediation Services
Custody is a legal term which describes the authority of one or both parents to make decisions on behalf of the child or children using the terms “sole custody” or “joint custody” to indicate whose responsibility it is to make important decisions. In contrast, mediated agreements usually use the term allocation of “parenting time” to describe shared responsibilities with a special regard to protecting the relationship with each parent. Mediation is the process where parenting agreements are formed, written, often later reviewed or signed by a judge and in many cases found to endure over time with a commitment by the parties to honor their agreements.
